Robert Kopicko has taught in the Bloomfield Public Schools for 25
years. He brings a multi-disciplinary perspective to the art classes
he teaches at the Abbott Middle School. Before teaching art, Robert
taught project-based science at the same middle school. Robert has
also been a pioneer in the use of telecommunications to support collaborative
teaching. He participated in Star Schools, one of the first national
telecommunications projects in education. He has been a teacher leader,
workshop leader, and online facilitator for the acclaimed LabNet and
KidsNetwork projects. Robert has trained in graphic design and advertising.
He juggles several home projects, and has recreated his house from
the ground up.
Deborah Muscella
has been a classroom teacher in the Philadelphia Public Schools,
working with special needs students. She earned a doctorate at The
University of Texas at Austin, focusing her research on professional
development for teachers and effective learning environments for
students. She has continued to explore teaching and learning in
the classroom context through national research and development
projects. She has conducted several research projects to examine
how electronic communities can support teachers. Deborah has been
an art-maker for the past eight years, working with wire and metal.
